Nadia's Story...

“My FMLA protection is up next week. There is no way I feel even remotely close to being able to return, between the heart palpitations (confirmed PVCs with heart monitor), chest pain, dizziness, confusion, memory loss, pain in my arms, POTS, fatigue, I could go on. . . I asked if I could work from home a few hours a day, it was declined. They said my job duties are changing and I need to be in the office. I’ve only gone to Target about four times in the last two months and I always pay for it either that night or the next day. Commuting an hour one way to work, even if for only four hours, and then driving another hour back home would just make my symptoms worse. I currently get short term disability and unemployment. But my short-term disability is up next week as well. I went to the Neurologist today and the examination showed memory loss, hyperreflexia, balance issues, and decreased feeling in my legs and feet. I am freaking out a bit. Feel like I'm going to get fired if I don't go back. Anyone go through something similar? ”
